Sarah Kashner - Treasurer

I have been teaching mathematics in Delaware since 1997. I have bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, and Accounting. I have a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and currently working on a second master’s degree in Special Education. I have been on the board of DCTM for over 12 years and have held many different offices. 

Tom Becker - New Castle County Rep

Thomas Becker has a master’s degree in educational studies, has just finished up his 15th year of teaching, and is currently teaching at MOT Charter High School. Thomas was the 2018 Charter School Teacher of the year and one of the 2018-2019 Presidential Award Finalist. He is an active member of the DCTM and the Delaware Math Coalition, presenting at numerous events sponsored by both organizations.

Jennah Truitt - Sussex County Rep

Jennah Truitt has 12 years of experience in Elementary Education. She obtained a Doctorate of Education from American College of Education in Leadership with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction. Jennah is currently teaching Kindergarten as a Dually Certified Teacher at Lord Baltimore Elementary. She was the 2018 recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching - Elementary Mathematics and was chosen as the 2022-2023 Indian River School District's Teacher of the Year. 

Vinita Lobo - Private/Parochial Rep

Vinita Lobo has been teaching high school Mathematics for 32 years, the first 4 in a public school in upstate New York, and the next 27 at Archmere Academy in Claymont, DE.  She is passionate about helping all students learn Mathematics. Vinita has an MS in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India, and an MA in Mathematics from UCLA.  She was awarded the Barnard Master Teacher Award at Archmere Academy in 2010.  She has served as the Math Department Chair at Archmere for 16 years until 2023, and as an AP Calculus Reader for 8 years since 2012.  Vinita is a Math League coach and has been the State High School Coordinator for Math League since 2018.  

Vinita lives in Claymont, DE with her husband.  She has two children who are college graduates and were educated K-12 in Delaware public and private schools. 

Christa Ferdig -  Presidential Awardee Rep

Christa Ferdig has 22 years of educational experience in Pre K - 8th grade.  She currently works for the University of Delaware as an Instructional Specialist and helps to support Mathematics teachers throughout the state of Delaware as they implement new curriculum and enhance their teaching practices.  This August she will be joining the Seaford School District as their District Curriculum and Instruction Specialist where she will continue to work closely with staff to ensure quality instruction is accessible for ALL students.  She is the 2016 recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching - Elementary Mathematics.
